For this assignment in my Character & Object Design class back in Fall 2008, we were to design and draw turnarounds for a hero, a sidekick, a bystander, and a villain.
For my hero, I created a man named Tyler Peterson. He is more of a hero "wannabe" than anything else. He spends most of his time watching shows and movies about super heroes and reading comics. His favorite series is "Mr. Awesome", as that character inspires him to try and be a hero.
Jacob Grant is Tyler's unwilling sidekick. He'd much rather go home and do his homework than be dragged along on one of Tyler's crazy antics. He feels that he is far more mature than Tyler, and this may just be true...
Abbie Wheeler is Tyler's childhood friend. Although she fills in the role of the "damsel in distress", she can actually take care of herself pretty well. She is often the one getting Tyler out of trouble.
"Mr. Awesome" is the star of a TV show by the same name--Tyler's favorite show. The actor who plays the character is also a bad guy in real life, and wears his Mr. Awesome costume while out stealing or whatever other bad things he feels like doing. However, no one seems to make the connection between this thief and the actor, and instead everyone thinks that he's some random guy in a Mr. Awesome costume.
